Melanie Simmer Beck, RDH, PhD
Melanie Simmer-Beck RDH, PhD, is a professor in the Department of Dental Public Health and Behavioral Sciences at the University of Missouri-Kansas City School of Dentistry, USA. She has an interdisciplinary background in Oral & Craniofacial Sciences, Public Affairs & Administration, and Dental Hygiene. Dr. Simmer-Beck is a Health Services & Implementation Science Researcher. Her research focuses on access to oral health care, oral health disparities, access to care, workforce models, quality assessment, and ergonomics. She has been the recipient of federal funds to move forward her research agenda. Dr. Simmer-Beck’s research has been presented at national and international professional meetings and published in peer-reviewed journals. Simmer-Beck is a member of Dimensions of Dental Hygiene’s Peer Review Panel and Journal of Dental Hygiene Editorial Review Board.
